Description
Two very big problems existed in managing their very expensive telecommunications equipment with typical costs of $10,000 to $100,000 for each networking switching box.
In some cases the equipment was just lost in transit and others stolen for black market sales. Also property tax on equipment of those values
was being paid to cities and counties even though the equipment was no longer in those locations. After studying the various current inventory and
tracking procedures Software Atlanta presented a solution that turned the process upside down and solved all these issues. We developed a unique innovative barcode system
that turned normal inventory processes on their head. This not only solved the problems of missing equipment but revealed tremendous redundancy in
network switching equipment and lost revenue thus saving millions of dollars within the first year of service.
UPS
SeeMail®
Developed for UPS Stores – Unique service to notify customers when mail or packages
arrive and “See” what’s in their mailbox
Description UPS purchased the Mailbox Etc. franchise to provide more outlets closer to its
customers and compete with the US Post Office. Being a long time customer of MailBox Etc. and renting a “post office” like box from
them, we wanted the same convenience for postal mail as we get with email. Using a computer for email, with automatic notification of new messages in the
numerous ways has left us spoiled. So we developed a system to automatically check for presence of postal mail in our rented mailbox. Using special cameras
and software we developed, we could “See” the mail in our box. It further evolved into a premium service including notification of packages and optionally
scanned images of the front of envelopes.
ESPN
VIP Pass
VIP member tracking and customization
Description ESPN Sports Bars and
restaurants offer special services with their VIP membership. This includes private entrances with security systems to allow them access anytime and avoid
lines and too many fans. Think Michael Jordan visiting the ESPN Bar in Buckhead (uptown Atlanta). Integrating with plastic card payment
system by Infinity Solutions Games, we developed a database and security software to maintain and track the details of a VIP member. This system would record specific
information of the member such as favorite drink, favorite food, tables and service staff names as well as their spending amounts and habits. The bar
owners used this information to prepare for the VIP member visits to provide premium services.

Nike
FootFob
Hardware and software device pad for accurate shoe size measurement to facilitate online shoe sales
Description Selling shoes online was difficult due to very inconsistent so-called shoe size
standards in the U.S. and Europe. Not to mention the differences between men’s and women’s sizes numbering. Companies trying to sell shoes online
were losing too much money on merchandise returns. What was need was a simple method to accurately measure a foot size including curves rounding the
heels and toes. We co-developed the FootFob measuring pad and software with a private company. The device looked essentially like a mouse pad that
you would simply stand on and have one foot at a time measured. This measure would be sent to the website when ordering your shoes. Simple, yet so
sophisticated that it was patented before selling to more than shoe companies. It later evolved to handle multiple kinds of input such as touch pad and gaming device.
